Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Edwin Frederick Brown

Pastor Edwin Frederick Brown

Pastor Edwin Frederick Brown was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1989 by The South Central Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of the Market Street SDA Church in Oakland, California.

After receiving his degree in Computer Operations and Business Management from Falls College and his bachelor’s in religion and computer science from Oakwood College (University), he joined the staff at South Central Conference as the Director of the Adventist Book and Nutritional Center. Under Pastor Brown’s tenure, sales grew from $100,000.00 per year to over $600,000.00 per year. He was also instrumental in the design, structure, and updating to a computerized system for the Book and Nutritional Center.

Pastor Brown has served as the Senior Pastor in the following churches: Valley Community, Stockton, CA, Beacon Light, Richmond, CA, Maranatha, Jackson, TN, New Birth, Franklin, TN, Oakland Park, Murfreesboro, TN, and Ephesus, Clarksville, TN.

In addition to pastoral ministry, Pastor Brown has a great passion for evangelism and has traveled to various countries spreading the gospel. His latest evangelistic endeavor was in Malandag, Philippines where he held a two-week Revelation Seminar. His ministry has included crusades in the USA, Canada, and Bermuda, Chimoio, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Johannesburg, Kenya, and Mombasa, Africa. He has also served in Romania, Chaing Mai, Bangkok, Thailand, and Lima, Peru. He took part in a marketing tour to Israel in 2018. He served as the Week of Prayer Speaker at the Agona SDA High School, in Ghana, Africa. The combination of these efforts has resulted in over 22 crusades 17,000 souls and the establishment of eleven new churches and four schools.

Serving the community is natural for Pastor Brown. He currently serves as a Chaplain for the Oakland, California Police Department. He has served as a mentor for young men as Second Lieutenant in the Tennessee National Guard, Chaplain for the Civil Air Patrol and for the Tennessee Department of Corrections. He is a Member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and is a Certified Cognitive Spiritual Therapy (CST) Facilitator that includes training in Basic Cognitive Spiritual Therapy, Stress Therapy, and Professional Addiction Intervention. During COVID, he led his church in a feeding program that served 5000 people per week. He spearheaded the reconstruction and remodeling of what is now known as the Market Street C.O.R.E. house. A facility that serves the community through outreach, research, and education.

Pastor Brown is the Chief Financial Officer of PEB Ministry a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization operating exclusively for charitable purposes in the State of California. PEB’s goal is multifaceted in its implementation of providing services to assist youth, young adults, and adults in fostering positive change in their lives. PEB services include mentoring/coaching, family and marital intervention, addiction intervention, and spiritual instruction. Pastor Brown and his wife, Paula Brown own and operate PEB Ministry.

Pastor Brown and his wife, Paula (Sampson) Brown have four children, Brigella Prillerman, Ererika Brown, Mario Brown, and Nivanka Brown-Harris. They love spoiling their thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren and watching souls come to Christ.
