Join us as we grow together in faith, hope, and love

Vallejo Berea Worship Service - February 28, 2026

Thank you for joining us for Berea's Worship Service. Elder Jane Ivy Jones will bring our message today. Her sermon title is "The Three Ds Of Jeremiah 29". The scripture is from Jeremiah 29:11. We pray you find a blessing in this message and our service.

Light for the Journey

Every challenge has a larger context in the story of God's call on our lives. When God calls, He often works through our challenges to give us meaning and purpose. The resistance Moses encountered on the road to Egypt, the feelings of inadequacy Jeremiah struggled with, or the suffering Paul endured on many occasions – these were not signs that they were not walking in God's call. On the contrary, these challenges confirmed that they were on the right path.

Challenges help us to see our limits and need for God's presence and power. Obstacles can be a formative space where God molds and shapes us, developing our character, deepening our faith, and clarifying our dependence on Him instead of on our own strength and abilities.

When we view challenges in light of calling, they become instruments of transformation in our lives rather than mere interruptions. God allows resistance, delay, and even temporal redemptive pain to align our hearts with His mission and prepare us for faithful service. What may feel like opposition is often preparation, and what seems like loss becomes testimony. By understanding challenges in the context of God's call, we can approach them with discernment, not asking, "Why is this happening to me?" but "How is God forming me and advancing His purposes through this?"

Peace, Pastor Roger Williams

A  Pastor's Reflection

Vallejo Berea Church continued its mission to be a Christ-centered, missional, grace-filled, grace-growing church in 2025. The church deepened its worship, discipleship, and leadership practices throughout the year, building on the foundation of prayer, Scripture, and spiritual formation. Members and leaders embraced the vision of a church that is not only gathered, but also formed to serve intentionally and purposefully.

Outreach and compassionate ministry in Vallejo became a focal point in 2025. Vallejo Berea extended its reach through practical acts of love, support for vulnerable neighbors, building relationships, and creating spaces of healing, dignity, and restoration. Whether through community meals, service projects, mentoring, or other initiatives, the church sought to embody the heart of Christ by meeting tangible needs and pointing people to the hope found in Him.

As we look forward to 2026, we do so with gratitude, faith, and expectation. May the new year be marked by deeper unity, a renewed sense of vision, and bold obedience to God's leading. It is my prayer that Vallejo Berea Church will continue to grow in grace, love, and impact—faithful to God's mission and fruitful in serving our community for His glory.
